❋ what is the pool?
The pool is an experimental model for incoming pooling between freelancers as a means of creating a support structure. It is currently being piloted at Extra Practice between a group of five independent designers, artists and researchers. For the year of 2026, these five individuals will share their incomes between one another in an effort to create more stability for one another. In doing so, the hope is that various stressors that stem from work and money may be somewhat alleviated and that individuals may be able to grow together.
This website holds information about the pool that includes the on-going development of it's model, thoughts and reflections from the participants and some technical details.

In the process of setting up the pool, the desire arose for a space in which we could write reflections and thoughts on the process so far. Not only as a way to share with other people, but also with each other. Below you will find a log of reflections from the participants of the pool.

The pool's structure is a work in progress. Since 2025 we have been prototyping different models for incoming pooling. In this section of the website, you will be able to find past conceptions of what the pool might look like and what it looks like in its current form.
